OK, I know I've gone through a delivery already, but it was done kind of blindly and we thought it might be nice to feel a little more prepared this time around. Todd and I both thought the class was definitely worth it, but neither of us much enjoyed the movies they showed of actual births. GROSS! I honestly don't ever need to see another birth! Is it just us, or does anyone else agree? We know it may be different when I'm delivering our own child, but I really doubt I'd ever choose to watch. It's a miracle, that's for sure, but I'm fine being totally in the dark as to how that miracle looks coming out!
P.S. I'm 32 weeks now and my doc says I'm doing great—so great that he wanted me to give him a high-five when I was there this week :) I will post another belly picture soon!

With Landen, I had a mirror. I definitely recommend it. Although I maybe only looked once or twice. With Tanner, things just went a little too fast that I forgot to ask for one. Can't wait to see you on Saturday!
I'm one of those people who definitely prefer to NOT see what's going on. (but I'm also for being induced, epidural as soon as possible, and very quick labor/delivery- so I may not be the one to ask.) I think the best part is when just you and your husband get to be alone and hold the little baby before all the visitors show up. When we had Gavin I had my Mom send Adia in so the 4 of us could be together for a few minutes. It's the best experience!
I can't believe your already 32 weeks....wow that went fast! (Probably not so fast for you though) We are so glad you are doing well and can't wait for the big day! I am so with you on not watching the whole thing, of course I'm not one to ask since I've had c-sections. It is such a great experience and truly such a miracle but I think I'd opt out of the watching. Glad you liked your class...wish we would have done something like that.
I've heard about those videos they show you! I may close my eyes during that part and be grateful that I'm on the other end of that. haha
Totally with you - yuck! The t.v. in my labor room with Adri was like a mirror pointing straight at me - I almost saw it, but had them close the doors last minute:)
I hated those video's. It made me so scared to give birth. However, I did and still do want the mirror. I like to see the progression. Especially when everyone in the room that can see is giving a play by play. However, with Jace I only got to see once because he came so fast and people were in the way.
I want to give you a high-five! Maybe on Saturday at the P-A-R-T-Y! See ya then!
I never saw any of mine but Dave being the scientist was more interested with what was going on than how I was doing! He thought it was fascinating! Nut.
I want to give you a high five too! You are doing fantastic!!!
We had fun at our child-birth classes although we skipped out on the c-section part of class thinking we would never need to know about it. Of course we ended up having 2 c-sections! I really wished I had been more prepared for the first one. The only things I knew about them was from watching "A Baby Story"on TLC! Did your class cover c-sections? Just in case....
Oh gosh...so Daron and I are just starting our childbirth class next week (I know we are totally behind). So thanks for the warning on the videos!! I will have to warn Daron he is the one I'm afraid may end up on the floor:) I'm excited to see you this week!
i'm a firm believer in what you don't know doesn't hurt you. i skipped out on the child birthing classes for both births that brought the 3 of my children here. honestly, just watch a baby story on TLC next time. gives me the heebees. with ry i kept asking spencer if he was SURE the lights in the ceiling weren't cameras...i thought he was going to smack me by the 5th time.
so excited for you! 32 weeks!!! it's a big milestone! you guys are awesome and we CAN NOT WAIT to see your little gal!
I had the mirror when I had Tyler and lets just say I never had it again. It scared the crap out of me watching that. Yes it was neat to see him come out but I never wanted to do that again. I feel bad I missed the shower, how was it?
I definately didn't like the mirror-its all a little to gross for me! But I'm so excited for you and I also love all of your little projects that you have been making for your baby's room!
